BR 6-13: One-Way Ticket

This book includes three short stories: "The Girl with Green Eyes", "South for the Winter", and "Mr Harris and the Night Train". This time, I would like to introduce the first one, "The Girl with Green Eyes". BR 6-12: Christmas in Prague

Do you know everything about your family - your parents, your grandparents, your brother or sister, your uncles or aunts? Does your family know everything about you? All families have secret - they can be big secret, small secret, things to laugh about, things to cry about.  (p.1)      This week, I read this book, "Christmas in Prague", so I checked and found that it was the name of a place in the Czech Republic. The pronunciation is "Puraha" in Japanese.      The main character of this story is Carol, a harpist. She has a husband, named Jan. She also lives with Jan's father, Josef, in Oxford. One day, Carol is going to a concert in Prague, and she suggests that Jan and Josef go together. Josef had lived in Prague in the past, but he had not told his son Jean about that time. However, he finally decides to go to Prague.       Carol arrived in Prague a few days before Jan and Josef, and takes a walk around the city of Prague. BR 6-11: Anne of Green Gables

"Suddenly He put his arm out, pulled her read plaits, and said in a loud whisper, 'Carrots! Carrots!' Anne jumped up and looked angrily at Gilbert. 'You horrible boy!' she cried. 'I hate you!' And then she brought her heavy book down on Gilbert's head.  (p.15) This week, I read this book, "Anne of Green Gables". The main character of this story is Anne, a orphan girl with long read hair. One day, an old man named Matthew comes to take in Anne. Matthew had planned to take in a boy, but he was surprised to find that it was a girl. He was not good with girls, but on the way home, he enjoys chatting with Anne. When they arrive home, Matthew's sister, Marilla, tries to turn her away at first, but Matthew convinces her to let her stay. Thus, Anne's new life begins. After that, Anne makes friends with Diana, a girl with dark hair, starts going to school, has a fight with Gilbert, a naughty boy, and grows up through various events. I knew only

BR 6-10: Different World

'Maybe Jim did want me. Maybe Lauren just wanted to hurt me. But her words were true. I could never know Jim, the man who played music. So, could I ever really know Jim?'  (p. 39) This week, I read this book: "Different World". The main character of this story is Sam, a young girl. She is deaf. One day she go shopping and meet a young man, named Jim. Sam falls in love. After that, she go shopping again and again in spite of she doesn't have to buy anything. Sam and Jim get to know each other better and better, and go to a party together. But then, Jim's old girlfriend, Lauren, shows up. She tells Sam something about Jim that Sam didn't know. Sam is hurt, but... This is a love story, and not complex, so if you like love stories, You will be able to enjoy this story! BR 6-9: A Picture to Remember

" Suddenly an old Peugeot 504, which was parked on Avenida del Libertador, started and drove towards them. Cristina was looking for a taxi when she saw the Peugeot coming right at them. She shouted and pulled Philippeback from the road, but it was too late - the car hit Philippe and then drove away along the Avenida. " (p. 38) This week, I read this book, "A Picture to Remember". The story takes place in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The main character, Cristina, works in a museum, named "Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes". One day, on the way home from work to the gym, she rides her bike and waits for a traffic light. Then, she sees  two men in a car next to her, one of them has a gun, and her eyes meet his. The man also has a tattoo of a red poppy on his neck. Cristina gets stuck and she is struck by the car from behind and loses her memory at that time. The men are criminals of a bank robbery, and they plan to kill Cristina... BR 6-8: The New Zealand File

'he thought as he drove. he needed to get away. But he also wanted answer to some questions. Who was is the car? Who were they working for? And how had they found him so soon?' This week, I read this book, "The New Zealand File". This book is in the same series as "The Caribbean File" that I read last week. The main character is Ian Munro, the main character of this series. When he was enjoying a vacation in Fiji, receives a call from his boss, Naylor. It wants him to hurry up and go to Christchurch, New Zealand, and first he is told to meet with Cochrane, the same spy as Munro. He meets with Cochrane and receives some necessary things (map, car key, cell phone, etc.), but he realizes that he is being chased by someone. And then, Munro meets a man named Longstaffe and receives an important file... This story is very thrilling and enjoyable, because it is a story of spy. If you like those types of movies, you'll enjoy it! MacAndrew, Richard. (2009).  The

BR 6-7: The Caribbean File

Munro watched the gun in Tajik's hand come up. There was a noise. The noise of a gun, but not Tajik's.  (P.30) This week, I read this book, "The Caribbean File." The main character is Ian Munro, a British agent. One day, he receives a request from his boss, Naylor. A picture of Naylor shows two men, and they are terrorists. He asks Munro to watch them and Munro goes to Tobago. Then, Munro meets a woman, Salgado, but after that, he sees Salgado with the terrorists, and one boy... The story was simple and easy to understand, but it was interesting with some thrilling scenes. I will try to read the next level's stories soon. MacAndrew, Richard. (2013).
